A survey by the CNRS [French government agency] of 7000 secondary school pupils in France in areas where pupils are disproportionately working class, immigrant and Muslim.
Among them, 11% adhere to "fundamentalism". The CNRS prefers the term "religious absolutism", measured via two responses from the pupils: "there is only one religion" and "in explaining the creation of the world, it is religion that is right rather than science". The proportion climbs to 32% for Muslims, against 6% among Christians and 0.6% among those without religion.
...64% of young people of African origin and of Muslim faith think [homosexuality" is "not a way of living out your sexuality just like any other".
32% do not completely condemn the attacks against Charlie Hebdo and the Hyper Cacher, compared to 10% in a representative sample in the entire population.

Among pupils who combine this tolerance of violence and adherence to radical religious ideas, 70% do not condemn the perpetrators of the attacks against Charlie Hebdo and Hyper Cacher. 44% think it is acceptable, "in certain cases in contemporary society", "to fight for your religion with weapons in your hand".
